Internet portal Lycos, Waltham, Mass., agreed to acquire free e-mail, home pages and directory provider WhoWhere?, Mountain View, Calif., for $133 million in stock. Lycos gains WhoWhere?'s popular free home pages site Angelfire. In February, Lycos purchased online community Tripod. Lycos said it now is the largest online community with 3.1 million registered users. WhoWhere? will operate as a unit of Lycos, with Dale Fuller, formerly WhoWhere? CEO, named VP-general manager of the division.
