  • How often are the Power 150 stats updated?
    • While most of us are sleeping every morning, our server is going through the index and grabbing fresh scores from all of our sources. Of course, that doesn't mean they'll be any different than the day before.
  • Why was my blog rejected?
    • The minimum requirements for addition to the Power 150 are not high, but here are the basics:
      1. The blog must be operating for the past 3 months and have at least 50 posts.
      2. At least half of the blog's content must pertain directly to marketing.
      • One of my scores seems wrong ...
        • Because the Power 150 is essentially a web mash-up, our scores are reliant upon the software and hardware of many other sources, and with so many layers at work, there will occasionally be hiccups. However, if you notice one of your scores has dropped precipitously, let us know, and we'll be happy to look into it and figure out a solution.
      • Why don't you use Google Reader stats to tabulate RSS subscribers?
        • We'd love to. But unfortunately, Google doesn't have an open API that we can use to grab them. Although there's a work-around to find out Feedfetcher stats through the Reader web application, we don't, as of yet, have a method of automating that for the 600+ blogs we rate daily on the Power 150.
      • Why don't you use Feedburner stats?
        • Again, we'd love to. Ad Age is a happy Feedburner customer, and if every blog used it to track their RSS feeds, we'd incorporate it into the Power 150's metrics. Unfortunately, a substantial portion of the marketing-blog world doesn't use Feedburner, and we don't want to force those bloggers to sign up (and set up a redirect, which can be tricky for some and impossible with some blogging platforms) in order for them to get accurate Power 150 scores.
      • Why isn't my favorite blog listed?
        • Feel free to contact us to get a blog listed, whether it's yours or someone else's. Occasionally we'll come across a blog and add it ourselves, but we rely primarily on user submissions.
      • Can you remove my blog?
        • Absolutely. If you're the site owner and you would prefer we don't list your blog, we'll be happy to remove you, no questions asked.
